ZAGREB BOOK FESTIVAL 2018 - SELFIE CULTURE
In the fourth edition of the Zagreb Book Festival, we deal with the topic of #Selfie culture, ie the impact that modern technology has on socio-political, economic, intimate and identity issues, as well as on art itself. Rethinking modern technologies through selfie culture, which is reflected in the popular self-portrait, which shares the root of the word with the words "alone" and "selfish", an individual who is constantly seeking confirmation of the Other, while not interested in the Other, the future of media fragmented and lost credibility, coexistence with artificial intelligence, the future of education in the age of filtering, are some of the open issues that we will try to shed light on from various points of view in conversations with our guests. At a time when most communication takes place through a variety of digital platforms, the tangible physical experience of the festival is becoming increasingly important. The festival becomes a meeting place for people of similar interests and values, a platform within which experiences are shared and within which interest in literature, reading and thinking deepens and expands. Therefore, (join) us again this year!
